Halloween 2010

I LOVE HALLOWEEN!!

Here are some little jack-o-lanterns that I made out of turnips.  They were really easy and were pretty cute--for about a day.  They quickly wilted and had to be thrown away.

On Saturday, Jessica and her friend, Casey, came over and watched Halloween while we carved pumpkins.

Jessica and Casey carved the one on the left and I did the one on the right.

Jessica as Duckie from Sixteen Candles (or Boy George) and Casey as someone from some movie.  Can't really rember who.

After Jessica and Casey left for downtown, I got to work on my Jack Skellington pumpkin (and Waffles munched on a TON of pumpkin guts).

Will's nieces stopped by our house on Halloween night.  They looked adorable--as usual.

Mylie the bumblebee.

Brooklyn the pink supergirl.

Can't wait until next year!

First Place, Bitches!!

Last Saturday (the 23rd) after working the alumni tent during Homecoming and then going to Pets and Pumpkins (where Waffles quickly became a one-horned mountain goat after just 2 seconds inside the gate), we went to the 9th annual FO Rally at the Lindsey's house.  I am proud to say that we won FIRST PLACE this year!!  Woo hoo!  This year had a pirate theme so we won some fancy goblets full of all kinds of booty!

This is not our first victory.  We also won first place 2 years ago.

FYI...the FO Rally is a scavenger hunt that has been made up every year for the last 9 years by Will's friends Jeff and Amy Johnson and Amy's parents.  It is a ton of fun!

Cupcakes!!

Ok.  So I'm kind of obsessed with making cupcakes right now.  We are having a Boss's Day dessert celebration on Monday and I got all excited because I had an excuse to make cupcakes.  I came across a recipe for snickerdoodle cupcakes and thought I would give them a try.  I also really wanted to make seven minute frosting and the snickerdoodle cupcakes would be perfect for it.  I decided that I better make a batch to see if they were going to be good before I took them to work.  I made some mini cupcakes as well as the big ones and I loved the way they turned out!  They look absolutely adorable and they taste really good as well.  I just love the seven minute frosting--it is so shiny and pretty.  I also finished them off with a dusting of cinnamon and sugar.

This picture is kind of blurry (I need a better camera) but you can still see how cute they are!

Waffles the Mountain Goat

A lot of people have told us that Waffles reminds them of a mountain goat so that is what we decided to dress him as for Halloween this year.  I found some headbands at Dollar General and bought some fake-flower foam and filed it down into two horns and then spray painted them black.  I also made two ears out of felt and then attached the ears and horns to the headband.  This is what the Waff looks like with mountain goat horns and ears...

Waffles the Mountain Goat

Pretty darn cute if I do say so myself!  When we get ready to take him to Pets and Pumpkins, we will spray the bottom 1/4 of his legs with black hair color.  He's going to look awesome.

Love it!

We went to mom's for my birthday dinner yesterday and Waffles had a ton of fun--as he always does.  I took this picture of Barsuk, Roscoe and Waffles waiting to come back inside after going out to go potty.  So cute.

I FU@#!!ING HATE BLOGGER!!!!!

These new template things are really pissing me off!!!!  Why did they have to go and mess with something that was already working really well??  So, I will from now on have a boring blog with no cute background.  FYI--the picture window template really sucks!  It squishes all of my blog posts together so that you can't read them.  And then the backgrounds that say that they work with the picture window template really do not!  Stupid.  Stupid.  Stupid.
